Bad Blogger : Good Girl

Bad Blogger

I know I have been pretty darn lax at blogging lately, but I go through spurts of wanting to you know?  Sometimes I just feel more inside than outside (as a way to describe my need for anonymity and privacy).. That just is funny to me in a world where I tweet and Facebook (but I also tend to relax there a bit as well...keeping things more to myself).

To be honest I get a bit creeped out when I see a new 'stalker' on my blog and I wonder who they are and why they are so interested.  Reading back as far as they possibly can, clicking and re-clicking to read comments and to view photos more up close and personal and going through a 24 hour period where they keep coming back to see if I have written or not.  Eh.

Good Girl

Anyway, I think I left off somewhere after my workout on Monday...so Tuesday I hit the gym so I could get a good weights workout in and that meant running on the treadmill.  Thankfully I didnt lose my mind and the 5 miles went by quickly enough.  However Wednesday had a speed workout and I like to do that on the treadmill, but having been in there on Tuesday ... well I just didnt like being on the treadmill 2 days in a row.  The treadmill is awful.  I got the mileage/workout in but hightailed it out of there as fast as I could.

Obviously its been Summer here, and that means 90+deg and humidity through the roof.  However Thursday we hit 100+ for the first time (way sooner than we normally do), and I was dreading running.  I waited until just past 6pm (was still 98deg) when at least I knew I could run on the one side of the street both ways so that I could at least avoid direct sunlight.  So I took 2 SCaps, ate 2 shot bloks, grabbed my frozen 'ade'/handheld from the freezer and set out.  I went into it knowing that I was going to go slower, that I was going to do 7/1's, and that it wasnt going to be pretty.  I think this helped.  I have to get past the I want to do this quickly, and just do the mileage no matter how long it may or may not take me on any given day.

I have been here before, and just getting use to it again is more in my head than anything else.

And honestly it didnt suck as badly as I had anticipated.

Running, at its core, is definitely more mental than physical.  Yesterday was proof of that (at least for me).

So now we arrive at today.  Friday.  Glorious Friday.  Where its not my run day.  Its a rest day.

Tomorrow I run 14 miles.  At least it'll be partly done under the cover of darkness.
